INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Foundation for Tolerance International

The non-profit Foundation for Tolerance International is based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, but managers projects throughout Kyrgyzstan.


Employer Information:  Foundation for Tolerance International, Bishkek, Kyrgystan. 

Description of Position: Project workers / field workers. 

Required Education: Masters degree or higher, with a background in inter-ethnic relations, mass psychology, natural resources management (water and land), facilitation, negotiations and consensus building at the community level and civil society development. 

Skills Required: Good English skills, ability to work unsupervised, interest or background in Central Asian issues. 

Anticipated Job Duties: Possible travel to study site(s). 

Level of Russian Language Required: Intermediate to Advanced. 

Work Environment: Most work will be conducted in Bishkek, although there will be the opportunity for the intern to travel to study sites such as in the Ferghana Valley. 

This organization is a practical, hands-on foundation, not a research orientated one. Interns will be working closely with local residents to work through the many problems that exist in this region.
