The overall goal of the WWF for Nature,
WWF Country Office Georgia is conservation of the country's
biodiversity through assisting the government to establish
a new protected areas system, and to raise public awareness
in the country. The priority biomes for activities are
forests and high-mountain ecosystems.
Primary Responsibility of the
Intern: Communications Officer
Description of Projects and Task of Intern:
- Assist WWF communication officer in developing and
implementing communication strategy
- Taking the lead in developing and implementing a
communications strategy, provide the public with informational
material on the work of WWF Country Office Georgia
- Act as liaison between WWF and representatives of
NGO's, academic institutions, partner ministries,
etc.
- Support the public information / media aspect of
project implementation in the country
Duration of Placement: 6-9 months
Contribution of WWF Towards
the Intern: WWF Georgia will provide the
intern with accommodations while in Tblisi. Selected
intern will assist the Communications Officer in developing
relevant professional experience in communications,
public relations or related fields. In its turn, the
communications officer will acquire excellent communication
and organizational skills, which will facilitate the
intern to take the lead in developing and implementing
a strategy to promote WWF's image in Georgia.
Intern should be proficient with MS Windows, Word, Excel,
and Internet.
This internship begins with a period (1 semester+) of
Russian language training in Moscow, St. Petersburg
or Bishkek. |
